PRESS RELEASE

ELITE WORLD CONSTRUCTION

The National Construction Industry Council of Malawi (NCIC) was established in 1996 by an Act of Parliament (Cap. 53:05) of the laws of Malawi with the mandate to regulate, promote and develop the Construction Industry in Malawi, register persons engaged in the Construction Industry, co-ordinate training of persons engaged in the Construction Industry and generally for matters incidental to or connected with the Construction Industry.

The Council is the only Authority under the Laws of Malawi (CAP. 53:05) with the mandate to issue licences to persons wishing to operate in the Construction Industry as a Contractor, Consultant, Material Manufacturer or Material Supplier.

The Council would like to inform the general public that it has never issued a licence to Elite World Construction. As such, Elite World Construction is prohibited, by law, to carry on business in the Construction Industry in Malawi.

The Council wishes to remind all Clients that it is against the law to award a construction contract to a person(s) not registered with the Council. The Council reiterates its plea to all Clients to verify with it the registration status of any Contractor or Consultant before the award of a contract. The list of all registered construction firms is regulary posted on the Council’s website (www.ncic.mw), as well as its Facebook Page (National Construction Industry Council – Malawi).
